Discover healing, peace, and joy.

Holistic, Christian counseling & wellness for women & teen girls in Cary and throughout NC

LET’S FACE IT

Sometimes you just can’t do it on your own.

You’re in the right spot.

You’ve tried and tried, yet you still feel overwhelmed, exhausted, hopeless, and burnt out. Talking to friends hasn’t done the trick. Self help books and podcasts motivate you for a bit. But nothing has created long-term healing and change.

As a woman, you’re expected to figure it out. You’re intuitive, smart, and resourceful. Yet you just can’t kick this feeling that things are all wrong.

We get it. We’re women just like youth have faced many of the same challenges. In fact, we’ve dedicated our education and careers so women like you can heal and feel less alone.

We have created a down-to-earth, safe place for you to lay it all out there. Be vulnerable. To recognize “I don’t have it all together.” And you know what? That’s where healing begins.

Our counseling philosophy.

Come as you are. It’s time to learn, grow, and heal.

We provide a casual, “come as you are” space for you to feel safe to share. We can be described as authentic, direct, and non-judgmental. We seek to be easy to talk to, compassionate, and empathetic. While we specialize in Christian therapy, we will meet you where you’re at - strong faith, weak faith, or no faith.

Integrating the best of science with the wisdom of faith

Everything we do is evidence/science-based. We believe the best results come when we find balance, wholeness, and healing in our minds, bodies, spirits, and social lives. Therefore, our approach is fully holistic:

  • Biblically based (upon request): Process struggles in light of the Gospel and Biblical truth

  • Mindfulness: Learn to live in the present with more compassion and less judgment

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy: Recognize thoughts and feelings are simply thoughts and feelings…you don’t have to grasp onto them. Identify your values and begin living according to them.

  • Feedback Informed Treatment: We believe in the power of your feedback at the end of your sessions in order to make sure we’re providing the very best care.

  • Somatic: Begin to identify how feelings and trauma manifest in your body

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Recognize the connection between thoughts and feelings

  • Movement: Harness the power of mindful movement to help decrease stress hormones and release feel good hormones

  • Nutrition: Recognize the connection between sound nutrition, gut health, and mental health

  • Insight oriented: Gain wisdom about how your past affects the present

  • Trauma Informed: Make connections between trauma and current functioning

  • Solution Focused: Focus on solutions to your problems

  • Collaborative: We will work with you on a specific plan for your goals and collaborate with your church, family, and other professionals to make sure we’re all on the same page

Our greatest joy is helping women & teen girls gain a sense of presence, joy, peace, & independent identity.

A Note From Our Founder

I never thought I’d be a counselor. I sure never thought I’d be a group practice owner.

I cannot separate my personal story from the story of Be Still. In 2017, after several years of walking alongside my own family during the deepest suffering I’ve witnessed. I sensed the strong call of God to help people going through what I’ve gone through. However, while I had earned a Master’s Degree in Social work a decade earlier, I wasn’t licensed here in NC. I was a stay-at-home mom homeschooling my boys. I didn’t want to go back to work! But God…

God strategically placed people in my life at that time knowing what He was about to do. Bernie Bernstein, co-owner of the Holly Springs Counseling Center “happened” to be my son’s soccer coach. At the end of the season, I found out he and his wife Nancy, were counselors and they graciously offered supervision and the support to get my career started in NC. Over the next several months, I began working at Heartland Hospice while taking the steps to open my own private counseling practice (“Kristin Nakhla, Therapist”). In June of 2018, I was officially in business. Over the next several years, my practice grew slowly and steadily. There were many bumps in the road. I’ve made countless mistakes, and it wasn’t always pretty. However, I’m in constant awe of God’s presence in every detail.

Fast forward to 2022, when the vision to open a fully-integrative group practice became clear to me. I dreamed of owning a practice where women and teens could receive fully holistic care-mental, physical, social, and spiritual. While transitioning from a solo practice to a group, I had to change my business name. After many, many failed attempts at new names, I prayed about what God was doing in my life. And then it dawned on me…Be Still! For years His consistent message to me has been Be Still-based on Psalm 46:10 “Be Still and know that I am God” and Exodus 14:14: “The LORD will fight for you. You need only to be still.”

In the fall of 2023, I opened our Cary office and hired a phenomenal colleague, who is the living picture of what I had envisioned. This dream is just coming to fruition and, by the Grace of God, I will continue to work to see it in full bloom. Because, let’s face it, I’m not good enough to do this all on my own. This practice is founded by God for His glory. I’m just thankful to be a small part.

Blessings to you on your healing journey!
